No other researchers, technicians, or other employees were present in the Exojuice Lab, and Säure has not been seen since. Access to the remaining samples with classification “GJC” has been restricted. The entirety of Säure’s work that night consists of two edits made to existing abstracts and one new file. “The quality of milk [quotation marks removed] excreted by Fragarian megachenes varies wildly, resulting in unpredictable flavors and at least 2% of milk lakes falling below food safety guidelines. Microbial communities may be at least partially responsible for this variation, but current metagenomic datasets are incomplete. A comprehensive sequencing of each lake’s microbiome will provide a high-resolution view with which to make comparisons, creating the opportunity to effectively balance the environment for both consumer satisfaction and megachene health.”

“Sample GJC-W09-1405 was originally collected from a sealed cask recovered from a structure on Globular Jelly Cluster planetoid W09. The sample, dated circa 9,000 P.E., is a mixture of gelatinous clumps suspended in musty, deep red liquid. Chemical analysis suggests some psychotropic effects, but the mixture contains numerous unknown compounds. Clinical trials have still not been cleared by the ethics board. Assuming I work up the nerve to test the sample myself tonight as planned, notes based on self-observation will follow.”
